Safety ahead of everything
From planning a job, to performing work on-site, or inspecting a project on behalf of a client; safety is the cornerstone of our activity.
To us safety means standards, codes of practice, systems of work and communication - not just a hard hat and high-vis vest.
Our Company
Holton Energy was formed to provide technically-led services for Portfolio Owners, Asset Managers and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Contractors of renewable assets; without compromise on safety or quality. Our approach is underpinned by an in-depth understanding of the legislation and standards that govern the industry we work in.
Our Directors bring over 40 years combined experience in the design, construction, operation and management of renewable projects, with our prime focus being the electrical safety of the equipment and systems of work at each site. We know that if a system isn't behaving as expected, it's likely to have construction-based issues and those often call the site's safety into question.
Our broad experience of working with thousands of assets spanning residential, commercial and utility-scale means we are ideally placed to assist clients with whatever challenges they face in maintaining the performance of their assets. Part of that assistance is drawing on our own knowledge base in standards and guidance notes to deliver training courses for other industry professionals, helping them to deliver their work in a safer and more informed manner.
Over the years we have formed strong bonds with experts in different fields who form our partners when specialist help is required to complete a job. From electrical contractors and construction firms, to data centre operators and structural engineers; we're confident that we can bring the necessary expertise and accreditations to make every project a success.

Our site inspections can help you gain a better understanding of an asset’s current health in terms of its safety, how it is being maintained vs contractual requirements and the quality of any work that has been carried out that you are paying for.
If you’re concerned about plant down time, recurrent faults or poor performance vs initial expectations, we can assist.
Starting with a desktop evaluation to understand the system and then undertaking a robust onsite inspection, Holton will help uncover the areas of focus and then can work with you to build a solution to any training or operational gaps that exist.
From single houses to hundreds of acres of utility-scale solar farm, our team has the expertise and experience to help owners, operators and manager of these assets with understanding the status quo of their systems from a safety and performance perspective.

Our Focus
Our belief is that a system's owner should expect that their investment works as intended. Our experience is that very rarely do projects live up to the financial model upon which they were sold. Our focus is to work with the owners, mangers and operators of these systems to help them uncover pockets of underperformance and devise strategies to mitigate and optimise the performance of each asset with a clear view of any investment required to do so.

Portfolio/Asset Owners
Holton supports asset owners by providing ‘peace of mind’ support from an independent source.
Whether you want us conduct inspections throughout the construction of an asset to ensure safe system of work are present, or get involved with a ‘third-party’ opinion of the work being carried out on your assets, we can craft a support package that makes sure you know that your assets are safe and that you are getting value for money from your contractors.
We can even help you find the right companies to employ as Asset Manager or O&M Contractor by running a comprehensive tender, or we can talk about providing these services for you.

Asset Managers
Holton provides technical support to Asset Managers that are looking to assess the quality of work being delivered by the O&M contractor.
Whether it be working alongside them to assess the reports and certification provided for each piece of remedial work carried out, or by taking over their site audit obligations and providing an independent view of the site safety and quality, Holton have it covered.
If you’re wondering why the same items appear on reports month after month, why not let us help you bring them to a close and ensure the solution is safe and effective.

O&M Contractors
Holton provides on-site and desktop support to Operation & Maintenance Contractors that either need another set of eyes on a job, or who are stretched thin and need some practical support from experts in their field.
We specialise in onboarding assistance, helping to ensure that items marked for retention are fair and helping push back on existing issues that may not always be apparent on first pass.
Any areas of concern can be backed up by a bespoke training programme that helps your team deliver an elevated standard of safety.

Installation Case Studies
Below you can find a small sample of our work, contact us if you want to find out more about what we do or look at any of these projects in more detail.

Commercial Garage
Over 100 bifacial modules have helped this client decimate their annual electricity bill by nearly £10k. Working a design to take into account the large chimneys from the onsite paint oven and spray booth, Holton Energy not only completed the install, but upgraded their electrics to allow future expansion.

Light Industrial Unit
Combining high-performance bifacial modules and a battery system means this client no longer pays for any electricity for around 9 months of the year. This saving and the income from energy sales means the total annual benefit from this project is nearly 200% of their pre-installation electricity bill.

Community Sports Club
Holton Energy jumped at the chance to help a local sports club try and manage their spiralling energy costs. 600W bifacial modules combined with battery storage means the club not only keeps the beer icy cold in the summer, but is able to run on battery power when the PV system stops generating.

Domestic Property
Although already energy conscious, the owners of this Buckinghamshire home wanted to make sure they were able to cover their electricity needs and install enough power to help negate the running costs of the hot tub they have on order. Holton Energy were only too happy to help make this happen.
